Yesterday afternoon we got word from one of our trusted sources that Michigan was expecting a commitment within 24 hours and at that time it was posted on The Fort.
Last night we had a chance to talk to the prospect and his dad about his decision. The prospect fully intends to commit to Michigan, but decided to do his teammates a favor by waiting a week as the evaluation period begins. This will allow his teammates to get looks from coaches that he’ll attract to his school.
This is the kind of thing that may become more popular with the recent ban of satellite camps. Highly sought-after recruits doing favors for younger or lesser-known teammates is not a new practice, but it may become more frequent with the recent ruling.
