Michigan Wolverines football coach Jim Harbaugh added Mike Hart to his coaching staff. He's continuing to look for others to join him.

One — Baltimore Ravens cornerbacks coach Jesse Minter — could be one to watch closest. He's considered one of the top up-and-comers in the profession (just like Mike Macdonald, with whom he works under John Harbaugh).

Harbaugh is looking for great young coaches, hungry guys who can recruit, and Minter fits the bill. He was a Broyles Award nominee at Georgia State as a DC, was one of the conference's top recruiters and is considered a great teacher of the game.

Look for more information on him below.

We continue to hear great things about Macdonald, the future defensive coordinator. Word has it he was going to be leaving the Ravens staff for a D.C. job somewhere, possibly in the NFL, and John Harbaugh pitched him to his brother as a future star. He also has great energy and should be an outstanding recruiter, per those with knowledge.

He won't win the press conference, but he certainly could help Harbaugh win games at Michigan.

On the offense, we continue to hear they're still exploring all options, including the possibility of another play caller to accompany assistant Josh Gattis. We'll continue to monitor that, as well.

On Minter from his Bio:

JESSE MINTER enters his fourth season with the Ravens and first as the team's defensive backs coach. In 2019, Minter helped lead the Ravens' strong secondary, which included three Pro Bowl defenders: CBs Marlon Humphrey (first) and Marcus Peters (third) and S Earl Thomas III (seventh). Baltimore allowed the NFL's third-fewest points (17.6) and fourth-fewest net yards (300.6) per game en route to a franchise-best 14-2 record and second-straight AFC North division title.

The Ravens also ranked fifth against the run (93.4 ypg) and No. 6 vs. the pass (207.2 ypg) last season. Baltimore's 6 defensive TDs in 2019, including 5 by defensive backs, tied (with '06 and '08) for the second most in franchise history (2004 – 7) and also tied (TB) for the most in the NFL. Humphrey and Peters each made multiple game-changing plays, scoring 2 defensive touchdowns each. Baltimore also recorded the NFL's second-best defensive passer rating (77.5).

When Minter joined the Ravens in 2017, he worked as a defensive assistant who was responsible for organizing details of quality control and self-scouting, in addition to conducting opponent analysis for both sides of the ball. He also worked closely with secondary coach Chris Hewitt, assisting on-field with the defensive backs. Prior to the NFL, Minter coached for 11 years on the collegiate level, most recently spending four seasons (2013-16) as Georgia State's defensive coordinator.

2013-16: (with Georgia State) 2016: The Panthers' defense ranked seventh in pass efficiency in FBS play, also concluding the year ranking 19th in yards-per-play average and 22nd in red zone defense...Minter was named the Sun Belt Conference's top recruiter by Scout.com. 2015: Helped lead the Panthers to their first bowl game (Cure Bowl) in school history...Georgia State was the most improved rushing and scoring defense in all of FBS, finishing in the Top 4 in conference scoring defense (28.3 ppg), total defense (405.6 ypg), rushing defense (181.4 ypg) and pass efficiency defense (120.3)...Was a Broyles Award nominee, an annual honor given to the best assistant coach in college football...Named the Sun Belt Conference's top recruiter.

2009-12: (with Indiana State) 2012: Guided a defense that ranked third in the FCS in scoring (14.3 ppg) and sixth in yards allowed (296.4 ypg)...The Sycamores also ranked fifth in FCS in pass efficiency defense.

COLLEGE: Graduated with a B.A. in liberal studies from the College of Mount Saint Joseph (OH)...Played wide receiver for the Lions' football team, which posted a school-record 30-10 mark during his four years, including back-to-back conference titles and Division III playoff appearances.
