Both Michigan and Florida are actually incredibly healthy heading into tomorrow’s game.

Jacquie Franciulli of GatorTerritory provided a brief injury update from the Florida side of things, and also broke down UF’s motivation level heading into tomorrow.

“There really aren’t any updates on new injuries, but one who could return for the game is [redshirt sophomore] quarterback Kyle Trask,” she said. “Trask was Florida’s backup quarterback until he hurt his foot during a practice after the Missouri game.”

Most Michigan fans were obviously not happy once it was revealed that the Wolverines and Gators would be squaring off for the third time in four years, and for good reason.

A U-M/LSU matchup or even a U-M/UCF showdown would have been more intriguing, and plenty of talk about tomorrow’s contest being a ‘meaningless game’ has kicked in as a result.

Does Florida view the matchup the same way?

Franciulli gave her take.

“Did Florida and fans alike want another matchup against Michigan? No,” she admitted. “But the program is excited to play in a New Year’s Six bowl after the 4-7 debacle of last season.

“This game definitely means more to Florida. Last year, the Gators fell to the Wolverines in the opening game, and the season ended with a coaching change. You can argue that this game could really show how far this team has come over this past year.

“There are some on this roster who remember that bowl loss to Michigan two years ago as well. Although there is some sense of revenge there, I think the team is mostly motivated to show that they have arrived and are ready to start a new era of Florida football. It’s been a hectic few years for UF.”

Franciulli concluded by confirming that no Gator players are expected to sit out tomorrow’s game.
