*** Michigan co-defensive coordinator Mo Linguist and new five-star cornerback commit Will Johnson are going to be doing a lot of tag-team recruiting on the trail over the next couple of weeks. Tonight, the dynamic duo will have a group call with four-star Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood cornerback Myles Pollard. I told y'all that the DB board was going to start working itself out after Johnson's commitment, and I'm told that Pollard is quickly rising as a priority target. Pollard is a tall, long, physical corner with a lot of upside. Right now, he's still a little raw from a technical standpoint, but the tools are there for him to excel at a place like Michigan.
*** Of course, Pollard already has a strong tie to Michigan in former teammate Junior Colson, who is helping in this recruitment as well. Colson and Pollard also trained together before the former enrolled at U-M. Linguist has made recruiting the state of Tennessee a priority and already holds a commitment from four-star safety Taylor Groves, who is also from the Nashville-area. Like Colson and Johnson, Groves will be involved in helping lure Pollard to Ann Arbor. Overall, I really like where Michigan stands and feel like the Wolverines can take control of his recruitment on tonight's call.
*** There have obviously been a lot of questions about numbers in the secondary. I'm told Michigan would like one more corner, one more safety and one more nickel/guy that has flexibility. I've continued to say around six because Michigan would obviously take a guy like Domani Jackson (this is just hypothetical) if he wanted to flip late in the cycle. I could easily see Pollard, Dillon Tatum and Jaeden Gould filling the final three spots. However, there could be an odd man out as Linguist is continuing to shoot for top prospects in the south and is more than capable of landing one.
