*** As I first reported, Michigan offensive line coach Ed Warinner had another call with Rivals100 offensive lineman Rocco Spindler this week. Like with Drew Kendall, the call was more casual. Warinner has done a great job of building a relationship with Spindler on a personal level. With basically every UM coach in contact with Spindler on a weekly basis, including head coach Jim Harbaugh and recruiting director Matty Dudek, the Warinner's focus has been more on strengthening their bond. Warinner also had some positive message exchanges with both of Spindler's parents.

*** Of course, the NFL Draft is something that has been reiterated to Spindler. Michigan, of course, had four offensive linemen get drafted this year. NFL development is extremely important to Spindler, and he knows Warinner can get him to where he wants to be. Honestly, there is no contest in this department when it comes to recent history. Notre Dame, which claims to be O-Line U, has had two offensive linemen drafted over the last four drafts. Penn State has had one in the same timespan. The fact that Notre Dame had a couple of multi-year starters upfront that didn't get developed into draft picks this year can be an easily negative selling point against the Irish.

*** Look, Notre Dame has a ton of hype in this recruitment. I honestly do feel like Spindler believes he can be a fit there, he has a great relationship with offensive line coach Jeff Quinn and the members of that class have been recruiting him hard. But I'm not buying into the hype just yet. Penn State has apparently gained momentum here. He still has a lot of family in Pennsylvania, and his grandparents don't live too far from Happy Valley. That's something that's weighing more on Spindler than the Detroit to PSU movement.

*** Overall, there is still confidence around Ann Arbor that Spindler will side with Michigan when it's all said and done. Michigan has been a constant in his recruitment, and he feels extremely comfortable around the program. I've actually heard Spindler compared to Braiden McGregor, and obviously that turned out well for the Wolverines. Spindler has reiterated that he wants to make his visits before deciding, and I'm still hearing that he's likely to go on with this until December. Every month, there seems to be something to worry about, but this recruitment is one I'm not putting too much stock into until the fall.
