*** I was out in Miami today and spent my entire morning with Rivals250 Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas outside linebacker Dallas Turner. The four-star prospect has a ton of major offers, but it looks like he's down to Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and Oklahoma, for the most part. Turner told me those four schools would for sure be receiving official visits after the dead period. Right now, Turner is in no rush to make a decision. While guys are pledging left and right, Turner is set on taking his time.
*** So where exactly does Michigan stand? Look, there is a ton of buzz with Alabama and Georgia. And rightfully so. Those two schools win premier recruiting battles in the Southeast more often than not and have done a tremendous job of recruiting Turner. But I still like Michigan as a dark horse here. Turner has visited Michigan in the past, is a high academic kid and isn't afraid to go far away from home. While playing for an SEC power is enticing, Turner really loves what Michigan has to offer both on and off the field.
*** Michigan linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary is off to a hot start at Michigan, and he's putting in a ton of work with Turner. The two chat at least once a week, and Turner said their relationship has grown as tight as can be. Turner is also very high on U-M defensive coordinator Don Brown. The two have regular film sessions, and being the next Josh Uche is something Turner is really buying into. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has also been heavily involved here as well.
*** Michigan is getting a big boost in this recruitment from cornerback commit Ja'Den McBurrows. Not only is he Turner's teammate, but he's also been his close friend since middle school. McBurrows and Turner actually played on the same youth FBU team and would love to play with each other at the next level. McBurrows has been working extremely hard on Turner since he pulled the trigger, and they hope to take a visit together when allowed.
