*** Rivals100 2022 La Grange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy wide receiver Tyler Morris informed me that he will be in Ann Arbor this weekend to check out Michigan and hang out with some of the commits in the 2021 and 2022 classes. Morris visited Michigan right before the dead period and has been extremely high on the Wolverines throughout the offseason. He had no plans to visit when I spoke to him last weekend, so this is a nice development for the Wolverines as Notre Dame and Penn State have been making big pushes.
*** This weekend will give Morris a chance to reunite with former teammate and 2021 Rivals100 Michigan quarterback commit JJ McCarthy. Morris and McCarthy are still very close friends, and the latter has been recruiting him hard to Ann Arbor all year long. Expect 2022 Rivals250 Michigan linebacker commit Tyler Martin to also work hard on Morris this weekend. Martin will be a vocal leader for next cycle and is doing his best to recruit for Michigan early on. Remember, I have my FutureCast pick in for Morris to land at Michigan. My confidence will go up if U-M rights the ship on the field.
*** While a lot of the focus on this weekend is on the 2021 class, the 2022 class has some heavy hitters coming in this weekend. Along with Martin and Morris, five-star defensive backs Domani Jackson and Will Johnson have both confirmed that they will be in Ann Arbor. Rivals250 defensive back Isaac Thompson is also set to come in. Rivals250 defensive tackle commit Alex VanSumeren is slated to be at the Michigan game despite the dead period because his brother is on the team. More names could be added as the week goes on.
