It was a good season, future is bright

I asked my wife as we were driving to the game about the OSU presence at the game...I thought that with the Harbaugh effect in play, that the M fan wouldn't be so quick to make the sale but boy was I wrong. Been going to games for 40 years and I thought the Buckeye faithful was damn solid again. I know there's a lot of Ohio people that have Season Tickets...don't know if they "trade" their tickets w/ their OSU neighbors for the game or sell the game to pay for a good chunk of their ticket package. Lots of Red!!

Perhaps some of them realized this team was a complete fraud and a bunch of chokers?
Why don't you go away, far, far, far away. If you ever played a down of organ football, it was one only.

Seriously, you're giving shit to a Michigan fan on a Michigan board after a crushing loss.

Christ, go back to your own board. Your board's meltdowns last week were much worse.
Hardly. I think most OSU fans respect Dantonio and what he has done in EL. Our fans were upset by the play of the team and the playcalling but I don't remember any talking about how many MSU fans were in the stands. Or calling the fans who might have sold tickets "dicks." This poster has several other simple-minded threads that are equally sophomoric. He was one of the people who just "knew" Ohio State was going to experience the "Harbaugh factor" and see 1969 all over again. Since that didn't work out he is calling some of his fellow fans "dicks." Apparently, you're OK with that.

Wow, so your panties are in a bunch because he had confidence in his team and showed bravado like fans do.

Don't worry. I've notified the Rivals police. They should be here shortly.

Year #1 - Harbaugh.. 9-3... The current B1G winner MSU went 7-6 in Dantonio's 1st year..

Relax people, we're fine.. Unlike the Hoke regime we don't have to complete switch systems. We have a lot of player on the roster who can play but they'll now be developed. We just can't make the leap to elite until we upgrade the talent a bit and fill in the gaps.. Enjoy the ride.. We're on the path to winning the B1G and making the playoffs but it doesn't happen overnight...

All that really matters is how will Harbaugh do against Meyer and Dantonio.. ?

Right now he is 0-2... I think he will be 0-4 or at best 1-3... Then 2-4 overall after 3 years...

If Harbaugh is 2-4 vs guys he is trying to recruit against... Will the bloom be off the rose after 2017 ??...

Eventually, to be a god in AA he will have to somehow wrestle the upper hand over MSU/OSU wont he ?
Well.. He got an 0-2. Start and I predict 2-4 after year 3.. Lets all sit back and watch.. No boasting please.. Just beat somebody.
This is as ridiculous prediction as if I said he will be 4-2 after 3 seasons.

You have no basis other than your opinion for coming up with this prediction.

Didn't MSU lose to Nebraska not too long ago? Just asking for a friend....

I agree that Michigan had a good season and the future is bright. Although a few Michigan fans tried to blast me for saying that Michigan met expectations this year (sorry, you really didn't exceed them), it was a solid first year.

You lost to the three teams that were arguably more talented than Michigan, and beat all the teams that weren't.

As the talent gets better and Harbaugh continues to make his presence felt, the Wolverines will be competitive with the Buckeyes and Spartans. He won't dominate as a few of you have predicted, but he'll have success.

I see each program having their runs, but as we look back in the long run on the three programs, it'll probably end up being pretty even. If PSU ever got their act together, they would be in the discussion as well.

klemman,

Most Michigan fans had us topped out at 8 wins. I thought 7 myself.
Many MANY non fans said we'd get to maybe 6 wins if the wind was right; and they were being "kind". Yeah, I get that rivals aren't going to be generous - but still. You were on this board at that time - tell me I'm lying.

We did exceed expectations this year.

Well aoi, if you want to call winning one more game than what as you describe most Michigan fans thought would happen, and beating all the teams in which the Wolverines had more talent than, as "exceeding expectations", then I suppose who am I to argue with the fact that you had a very low bar set as a definition.

When I think "exceed expectations" I'm thinking something unlikely, like Iowa's season.

Exactly. The guy posting below you wants to make this about MSU and OSU. Not right now. If UM was 1-10 would people say..Oh, the season won't be a success if they don't beat MSU and OSU? No...not at that point.

You need crawl before you walk. If UM was 7-5 this year then I would have been disappointed but they weren't. They were 9-3 and a New Years day bowl. What standard was Harbaugh supposed to meet by the way? Was he expected to 10-2? Before the season some people were predicting 7-5 so how in the world is this season not a success relative to last year and recent history? How many times has UM beat MSU and OSU recently by the way?

Come on . It can't be a great year losing to both rivals but relative to the recent past and all things considered..it was a very good year especially when UM had no running game and a transfer backup qb. How about 6-6 and a victory against MSU...would that be considered a better year.

I bet some MSU fans want to discount this year. Anybody who is looking at this objectively doesn't buy that argument.

I've been saying for the longest time that people put too much into beating rivals. Don't get me wrong, I want to beat ND, MSU, OSU too but mostly because they're on the schedule. In 2011 we lost to MSU but beat OSU to get a Sugar Bowl bid and eventual win. That win over OSU mattered a lot for the postseason. Now with the playoff system there's a chance we could lose to either OSU or MSU and still play in the B1G title game, the playoffs and win the National Championship. Sometimes I think folx would rather beat the rivals than win it all.

If we win a national championship, you think I care if we lost a game to MSU or OSU.. WHO CARES!?!? - lol
