That seems to be the feel for recruiting these days. Michigan had a great season. The program as a whole is improved. And as a fan I enjoyed this season and am proud of the positive direction we are heading. But bottom line is an uninspiring, unexciting 10 win season can’t survive a bad loss to end the season. I know it’s all about the team, the team, the team, but times have changed. If Michigan wants to land the “ big fish “ on the recruiting trail, it seems like we need to be put back on the National map. Until we give someone like Shea Patterson a chance to have a Baker Mayfield type of season, or give any of the guys a chance to put up heisman type numbers, or at the very least, run an offense that kids can see that it would be possible, it’s always going to be selling hope. And I don’t think that’s enough to take the next step.
