The defense has been lights out for the most part the past few seasons… However, when A play has been needed to be made late in a game against Iowa, against Ohio State last year in the shoe, etc.… Somehow even the defense has found a way to lose it
Again, they’ve been lights out for the most part… And that’s nice, but it’s not championship level even despite the offensive woes…
Going into last night, Michigan needed to take care of the ball, win the special teams game, perhaps even block akick or return one, and finally continue playing lights out defense…. They give up a TD on the second play the game and another one a minute later…. Now, some might say… It was the offensive side of the balls turn and they needed to answer… Well, they did… And what happens? Less than two minutes left in the half and Michigan defense lets them march down the field again.
Look, I know Penn State was the better team last night going in... but that’s just more disappointment in 2 1/2 seasons that have had plenty of disappointing moments.
These big opportunities continue to come and continue to be missed, It’s bitterly disappointing at this point... They get a couple more tries that Wisconsin and verse the buckeyes… Unfortunately it’s only to play spoiler and for pride, the staff needs to do better
