Is Michigan's Defense Like Nothing We've Ever Seen Before?

No, I do not mean it's some futuristic, ahead of its time scheme. What I mean is that we hired a first time coordinator, who has zero college coaching experience, and some NFL position coaching experience. We had no spring game, any practice footage we've received has been maybe a foot from the line of scrimmage, and of course, no depth chart. While this site and many other reporters have gleaned some information, it's not exactly a first hand account. We know he's been around coaches at Georgia and for the Ravens, so we can assume ascertain he's taken key elements from his time there, but until September 4th, no one will have ever seen Michigan's defense.

Doesn't that seem pretty wild to anyone? I mean, think of our last few defensive coordinators. For better or worse, we kind of had an inkling of the defense they were going to run as there was some footage, some history, some anything (and I am talking this modern age of information).

Maybe there are plenty of examples of this elsewhere in college football, but at least here, I can't think of anything.

For a program that has prided itself on defense and has had to have defense carry us for most of the last few decades (minus the RR era), just feels so weird the uncertainty and secret nature of what we're about to see.
