The transfer portal is becoming more important than recruiting. It seems that the inability to transfer credits will keep Michigan athletic programs from going after most of these kids. These aren't high school kids, these are kids with college credits, from four year accredited colleges (Isn't Penn State in the B1G for example?)
When it was just a JUCO issue, I didn't care much. But now the "Michigan standards" appear to be keeping us from going after the new pool of talent.
How can a program survive losing 10+ kids every year to the portal and not have a similar influx of talent?
Make no mistake, the admissions department has made this a uniquely Michigan issue and puts our program at a terrible disadvantage. Maybe Stanford, and a few others have a similar challenge now. But in the Portal-verse, this is a killer disadvantage.
