If true, it really floors me that Goss would have turned that down. I had heard that he gave the job to Ellerbe because he wanted him to have a shot at the full time job with a good season (which is what happened). Really wonder how our decade in the wilderness would have turned out if Michigan made Johnny Orr coach in 1998? He clearly would have been a one year fix and we would have had to find a full time replacement.
