CB mentioned in a thread below...this is not the same JH that was passionate and got things done at Stanford. He was the prodigal son - coming back to save the program. A great storyline...but I now wonder if too many people want him to succeed to do anything about it...?
Lots of people said that "spot" in Columbus a couple years back changed him...I don't know, but continued references to "JH is back" are really ringing hollow.
We're down 14-10 at half...OK, so we underestimated MSU's resolve in the first half. That, and a few soft PI calls had them up. But no fear, we have a reset button, and a chance to exert our will with halftime adjustments. So we go 3 and out, then give up a long drive....? To a team full of 2 and 3 star prospects and a late-addition head coach to put out the dumpster fire...? A team that had SEVEN TO's last week and gave Rutgers their first win in the B1G in years....??? A team that even today had stupid taunting penalties...
Urban was hilarious on Fox - basically he's not giving us anything until we can stretch the field. And yesterday we didn't even try to...we were content to ram our speed in space up the butts of our OL...
...and blitzing on 3rd down when the only goal was to keep them out of the endzone...ANYONE on the Fort knew our gemeplan, on both offense and defense, so a coach worth his salt would have an easy time with us...
The tipping point of this marriage is the second half - the 3 and out to start the 3rd quarter coupled with the $&@^)%*&@$ BLITZ on 3rd and 20 that everyone knew was coming...
Perhaps there's a reason that JH hasn't renegotiated his contract...it's starting to feel like he doesn't want to...kinda like when the upper admin convinced Carr to hold on for one more year and he opens by losing to Appalachian...
