We are missing the true talent of the skill players on this team. Patterson should be stretching the field. Mason should be on the field for every short yardage running play. We should be running crossing routes with Perry. Gentry, Eubanks and McKeon should be picking up first downs with regularity. Running Higdon on first down between the tackles is a likely way to 3rd and long. I am not impressed with how Harbaugh and Hamilton are using our skill players to advantage. RPO, screens, crossing routes and downfield passes would play far more to the ability of the players on our offensive roster. I can't help but think that our offensive skill is being wasted on an offensive scheme that worked 30 years ago, but is not in tune with CFB in 2018.
