Is being a Michigan fan a sickness

Driving to a client meeting I found driving through NY to be a nice drive as always but was sadly enthused about driving through Paramus, NJ. Do I have issues? is there any reason that driving through Paramus, NJ should, as a Michigan fan, bring a strange sense of pride?
