... we should consider the same?

Jake has done a great job of doing all he's been asked, to be a conservative, good game manager ... and all credit due him for getting us to 5-2 at this point, a terrific accomplishment. But ... I think we've now seen all Jake is capable of doing, even under the expert tutelage of Coach Harbaugh. The only issue with him is as I see it, is that we can't stretch the field with him, and we make it too easy on opposing defenses (the good ones, at least).

After Saturday, I think our chances of reaching the B1G Championship game are quite slim. Jake will not be back next year. To me, my highest priority goals for the rest of the season are: 1. Beat TUOS, and 2. Get to the best bowl possible, and beat a quality opponent. Going forward, I think we can handily beat at least three of the remaining opponents, even if we put in George Plimpton at quarterback.

If we could run the table with Rudock, I wouldn't want to see any change, but I think we are tying one hand behind our back with him ... particularly against TOSU and any quality bowl opponent. Not much difference to me, now, if we finish the season at 9-3 or 8-4 ... it's already a great season for us.

Coach Harbaugh and his staff have been working with all the QBs all season now, and with lots of work over the bye break, they should be pretty well groomed. Why not give one of them that can heave the ball deep with some chance of success, and able to keep the opposing defenses from stacking the LOS a chance .... starting with the next game, and let them build some valuable experience prior to the TOUS and bowl games ... and for the next seasons?

With our excellent defensive and special teams play ... I'd like to see us open up more and take some risk on offense. I'd gladly trade a couple turn overs for multiple three and outs for the rest of this season. Nothing more to "prove" with Rudock ... let's go for it, this season ... do it now!

let me guess... you wanted morris in last year against minny? stop it already, rudock has not lost us games.if they lose another game i will be surprised.

Our new coaching staff is obviously very proficient with developing talent, and I'm pretty sure, especially at the QB position (most of whom they've been evaluating and working with since January). There's been little to no internal information about the other QBs made available, so I'd support whatever the coaches decide. Morris may be the most ready to be the next guy up, or maybe not, none of us know.

As I stated in my OP, my number one personal wish for us to attain ... this season, at this point after last weekend ... is to beat TUOS. Rudocks limitations make us a lot easier to defend, against TUOS, we are going to have to score ... a lot, I'm guessing over 28 points, and I don't see that happening against them without being able to stretch the field.

Coach Harbaugh and his terrific staff are amazing, and I fully believe and expect they'll utilize the bye period way better than the Hoke regime did. I'm very anxious to see the results of what they new wrinkles they come up with to make the most of ...this... remaining season. I just don't see them being satisfied with the status quo, but we'll soon see.

Who is operating the scout team in practices? The next question is how well is that QB doing against the first team defense? I would expect O'Korn or Gentry to be doing this but have not heard any news. This might be a clue about why a change has or has not been made. If Morris is not going against the first team defense then he must be considered the back up QB.
