The Michigan coaching staff did a solid job of filling holes on the roster -- both present and future -- with its 2015 recruiting class. But there is still plenty of work to do in 2016.
The coaches have been extremely active on the recruiting trail, making new scholarship offers left and right. The positions at which they've issued those offers indicate some of the biggest needs for the class.
Wide receiver is one spot U-M is looking to address. The Wolverines landed a pair of in-state prospects in four-star Brian Cole (Saginaw Heritage) and three-star Grant Perry (Birmingham Brother Rice) with the 2015 group but want to continue building the roster. At the receiver position alone, 19 prospects -- 13 of whom remain uncommitted -- hold U-M offers.
It might be one of the players off the board with whom the Wolverines have the best shot. Farmington three-star Desmond Fitzpatrick picked up his U-M offer on a visit last week and plans to return to campus this week. Though verbally committed to Louisville, it's clear that U-M has made an impact on his mind.
Detroit King four-star Donnie Corley also visited campus recently, though he ranks U-M outside his top five schools.
Jim Harbaugh and his staff also have focused on reeling in defensive backs. At safety and cornerback, 28 total players hold Michigan offers, though three of them are off the board already.
There isn't much momentum with any player in the defensive backfield. Michigan might not be considered a favorite for any of them.
One player with whom they made a recent move, again, is an in-state prospect. Detroit Cass Tech standout Demetric Vance entered high school with dreams of being a dominating downfield threat at wide receiver but has transitioned to the defensive side of the ball in the past two seasons. The 6-foot-3, 196-pounder plays safety for Cass, but even has the frame to grow into an outside linebacker. Ohio State and Nebraska are among his other recent offers.

Michigan's coaches also have scoured the nation to add offensive linemen and defensive ends to the roster, but early in the 2016 cycle, it's clear that their top priorities are at the skill positions

Detroit Cass Tech should help Michigan for Lineman..

For a long time it is a feeder for our line....GO BLUE

She tries, but gruff is not one of our smarter posters. She really

struggles trying to comment on other posts, as she's evidently not able to comprehend most things above about a 3rd grade level.

Go Blue!!!!
