I know this isn't exactly earth shattering by any means, but still thought I'd bring it to the board.
The Intersection of Michigan and Washington isn't Houston, but Indiana University. Good ol' IU. B-Town. Bloomington. However you want to slice it.
Kalen DeBoer was at IU in 2019 as the OC/ QB Coach with Mike Hart who was the RB coach at the time. Mike knows parts of his philosophy and his system (that system is going to develop over time, but the core principles are the same. I was watching a quick recap of the game between Michigan and IU in 2019 in Bloomington and IU looks a lot like Washington (and rightfully so). It's going to be interesting how Michigan uses this information.
In the game, Peyton Ramsey was stifled, but still had Peyton Hendershot and Ty Fryfogle (respectable weapons for IU) to throw to. Penix started as a freshman in 2019, but was injured two weeks prior in IUs game to Northwestern. DeBoer and Penix were really good in their one year together so his success at Washington isn't a surprise by any stretch of the imagination. but I digress.
Michigan won comfortably, but struggled on the set plays/ script (opening drive). but adjusted nicely as the game went on. Monday can't come soon enough, gang. It's going to be a fun watch.
