So many of us wonder where the fire went. Why does this seem to synch up with The Colonel leaving?
Seems as if the disloyalty/departure of Durkin along with Minick's departure hit Jim hard. Fisch also left after the 2016 season. And then one of his long-time coaches, Drevno, is let go after the 2017 season after coaching with him every year since 2003. We're so used to the coaching shuffle around here that I'm not sure we've looked at how much that has affected the head man. And has it led to his inability to come down hard on coaches who aren't pulling their weight?
I think I'm answering my own question as I write this but I think the coaching shuffle is hitting Jim harder than it does most coaches. And to me it seems as if Minick was the biggest loss...nobody wants to lose their wing man and sounding board.
