I imagine the Red Wedding episode was impactful for you.
Interestingly, I've been reading the books for years. About 5 years ago, I tried to get a buddy at work to read book 1, and he told me he doesn't read a lot anymore, doesn't have time, etc. A year or so later, he comes to work telling me about this awesome new show on HBO that he's hooked on called Game of Thrones. Good times.
