If Hoke were coach tonight you would all be calling for his firing. Undisciplined...

football. Unprepared. No improvement from what was already a vastly overrated O.Line. Don't have a backup QB ready. Questionable 4th down calls. Sound familiar?

I love Harbaugh and he is a great coach and we will win big someday but the last play of MSU and this game? Not his finest moments of coaching.

Really? Offense has been above average for their own performance. QB injury.

I think Minny really caught UM off guard with these wide open offense. UM has missed some plays...Thomas? along with some balls just underthrown.

Threw in some qb runs, etc. Got to give Minny some credit.

Minny has gotten unreal lucky and our QB got sidelined. We should have an OL and RBs that could run the ball anyway, but we both know they don't. Why is that?

Lack of development and overrated recruiting rankings. Team is obviously better coached and getting better. I think the bottom line and this is being addressed...UM needs playmakers on offense rather than their ST's and safety/db playing offense.

The two biggest things in my opinion besides poor coaching hire choices (and yes RR was a bad fit for UM) for the problems on UM in the last decade have been...

1. Lack of a running game
2. Lack of passing qb

That simple. Just look up north....good qb's and running game. End of story. Not saying there aren't other variables but those are the two primary reasons for a program that fell. Good news...being addressed vigorously by Harbaugh and staff.

If Hoke were the coach, we would have had the same result as last year...another butt kicking loss.

The problem with the team is the team speed.
I'm also not sure why people are on Thomas, I may have missed something. I think Hill again did not follow his assignment on the qb run and Stribling bites on a double move.
Also, can the dB's catch. Jabrill is awesome but dropped a easy pick 6.
Not blaming him for anything, just an observation as Thomas also let the one through his hands.

We'd won the game by 25...lol. Love Brady but Jimmy was walking into a landmine tonight....lucky we prevailed!

If Hoke were coaching this game would have been over in the 3rd quarter. A great coach knows how to win when everything is going against you!

you write about a weak running game but Drake Johnson would have had near 100 yards except for a holding penalty. He's the starter next week because he brings speed to the position.

Ridiculous. If Hoke were coaching, Shane Morris would be playing QB and we would have never been in this game.

Exactly. UM would have no Rudock or O'Neil (wouldn't have mattered since UM would have been losing 30-10 to MSU) or Isaac.

Just imagine Hoke with this program.

I think UM would be 5-3 best case scenario. More importantly...and this is the key...the recruiting would have tapered off since players would see UM going nowhere.

The big difference between Harbaugh and Hoke isn't just the record or the team performance but the optimism going forward. Everyone including OSU, MSU, the Nation and recruits know UM is going to win very shortly at a conference championship level and get to the BCS championship final four within 5 years.

That wasn't going to happen under Hoke. That program was going nowhere...it was a 6-6 program. It was in football purgatory and it had a coach who had no idea how to develop an offense. None.

Now UM has a coach/staff that understands how to develop qb's and rb's. UM had the equivalent of Brian Ellerbe as their coach.

cmon man.... coming off a bye after a heartbreaking loss vs really inspired Minny team. And lets be honest, Minny had some really fortunate big plays in this game. The D was entitled to have a bad game because they've carried us all year. In the end. the offense put up enough points and the D made the final stop.

We're 6-2 with Rutgers and Indy on the docket meaning we should have a much easier time running the ball. If we play some D we're 8-2 going into the PSU game.

This is one of the best coaching jobs in UM history and it's not even close.

No we would've called for his head based off the last two years of being inept. Not wearing a headset, putting Shane in the position he was in last year with a concussion etc. Thats more than enough.

RR was a bad fit. They lost last night 47 to 3 to Washington. He's no 'master' of the Spread. "74
