...would you replace Harbaugh with Pat Fitzgerald?
Completely hypothetical of course But after watching yet another uninspired and unimaginative performance followed by the typical dour, dark Harbaugh press conference it's difficult to imagine him taking the program to the higher level. If you are winning big, the attitude and eccentricity is o.k. When your not, it is unjustifiably arrogant and irritating.
What Fitzgerald continues to do at Northwestern is pretty impressive, for a fraction of the salary Harbaugh pulls down. Even more impressive is he always comes across as positive, classy and an excellent representative of his university.
I realize Fitzgerald is going nowhere and neither is Harbaugh, but when you ponder who out there could do a better job as UM coach, Fitzgerald comes to mind for me.
