I am hoping it is not Mattison. I think he his past his time. Got real tired of seeing zone blitzes and super soft zone coverages coupled with a ZERO pass rush. Our pass defense sucked.

he ain't going anywhere at this time. Maryland has cast a wider net for a new coach and anyone who "interviewed very well" and then sees Maryland seeking other candidates has no self esteem.
Durkin will likely get a Job somewhere, Bowling Green, Maryland, Syracuse, even Cal has interest if Dykes goes to Mizzou. Finding a new DC shouldnt be a huge issue but there is more depths than that. Any coach that leaves is going to try to steal Chris Partridge with them,, and offer him an on field coaching spot. That's the issue here. If Partridge leaves, everyone thinks the recruiting class will crumble and things could go into shambles. Now, Harbaugh, who is usually a next man up mentality, might not allow this to happen and offer Partridge a job on the field. The problem with that is that Durkin was the LB's coach and the DC which max'd out the coaches. So if they brought in a new DC, only to be a DC, they would have to ditch another coach. Should be an interesting few days. The key here, is keeping Partridge.
With lots of firings this fall, there should be lots of potentially solid to very good candidates out there.
My b*tch naples won't like this post, but I agree 100%. "26 seconds" is also allergic to creating turnovers.
There's no shot Mattison has a shot at this position I don't believe. Unless that's the only way to attain Partridge. Harbaugh sees Partridge as a future coordinator, but no one on the staff right now is ready for a Big 10 defense.
I don't think that Mattison will get the job permanently he will coach during the bowl game but after that another DC will be hired
In the bowl game the corners will go back to playing 10 yds off the ball and we won't have a pass rush? Good thing it's just for 1 game...
