the defense look vulnerable on several instances and when Pepper's rushes from the outside there is absolutely zero options for containment. The special teams earned my gameball today allowing two easy scores and blocking two potential scores. The ground game still sucks and the OL and RBs allowed pressure on the QB.

JH has some coachable moments before next week.

UCF was a run heavy team and if you take away those 2 big plays we held them in check especially in the first half. I think the team took their foot off the gas pedal though - focus was not there at all. When you go up 31-0 with 40 minutes still left in the game, that is bound to happen I guess. We will be fine - we still won by 37. The big thing for me is that this is the first game I have seen in a long time where we did not turn the ball over at all - as long as we can keep doing that, I think we will be ok.

The biggest concern I have for this team is the barometer of how good they really are. I am not sure how good Colorado is but we will find out next year. Wisconsin is great on D but terrible on offense. The reality is that until we play MSU we won't know how good or weak we are and the concern here is that if we are indeed 7-0 going into MSU I hope the players don't let that get to their heads and no continue to improve. Would have loved to have a tough team early on as a gage. If Wisci can somehow come away with a win against MSU, that should be one hell of a game - assuming we take care of Colorado and PSU.

Speight looked great today!

What I saw was a defense that didn't always maintain their assignments...over pursued on occasion. One play at had no idea what Gedeon was doing/thinking. It was like he guessed on the play (run up the middle by UCF).

This isn't a style UM is going to play until OSU or a Clemson where a team can get to the edge. Thank Goodness for Peppers at lb. UM is going to have to minimize the outside rush and funnel everything inside against the speedier teams.

I can't explain why UM struggled running the ball.

I was disapointed Michigan charged 75 dollars to watch this game..What a joke to schedule this team...

---> Eight or nine in the box would explain it. They rolled the dice Speight wouldn't deliver, but he did.

Go Blue. Always.

Maybe early in the game but UM was slicing and dicing with the passing game. If UM blew the dline off the ball I guarantee UM would have been able to power through inside the tackles.

If I had to guess the problem is that Smith isn't quick enough on the cuts unless huge holes. If UM had a guy who could run inside with power then it could grind out 4-5 yards a carry.

Watch the end of the game...Higdon seemed to be grinding out yards even though UCF was clearly playing the run.

Not that concerned about the runs we gave up. I think UM relaxed a little after getting a big lead. The real concern was the lack of a running game but the good news is Speight is ahead of Rudock at this point last season. If he can continue to get better we'll be fine. His lack of mobility, particularly escaping the pocket, is a real concern going forward though.
