I also think sometimes plays just don't work. There were a couple of plays on third and short where the right play to call was to give it to the back on a dive play. Unfortunately the O-line didn't make a hole and the D made the stop. I also think Evans is not explosive into the hole. For all the gnashing of teeth on the game day thread, I thought that was the right call.
There were several play calls that I loved and were executed to perfection like the first TD pass to DPJ. That was a thing of beauty. The long bomb to DPJ was perfect too.
Once we got rolling the offensive play calling was great. I think they scored on 6 consecutive drives.
Our problem has been and will continue to be consistent good O-line play.
I believe that the younger players on the O-line will make a huge difference when they get their chance but the staff doesn't think they are ready yet.
