I think Harbaugh has done one hell of a job so far. I mean he has got

this program on the right track. Team plays hard but has some roster warts. I could have put it a better way but you get the point.

Now...if I could go back and whisper something in his ear or make one suggestion it would be this...

Make Peppers an every down running back. Not a 3rd down back. Take him away from the defense and special teams and make him the explosive home run hitting back.

Harbaugh specializes in moving players and identifying their talents. This program would clearly miss Peppers on ST's and on some defensive calls but what they really need is a star at qb or rb and not just TE/WR.

What is done is done but that is what I would do as an advisor :)

Good news is the playmakers are coming including Crawford right now.

I thought he missed a chance at simply putting Peppers in as a RB/SE and let him run in the normal offense. Maybe he's not as good at receiving as I think, but the cutesy plays had diminishing returns as the season progressed

If I had to guess...Harbaugh wanted to Smith for pass pro. Harbaugh likes the physical back and Peppers was a guy who would need a better OL.

YOU bring up a good point. If you are trying Peppers in the wildcat and using this as a way to run the ball along with jet sweeps it's clear he recognizes the problem. YOU are saying he was too clever for his own good and that is a good point.

Bottom line is that UM needs to get a better run game if he wants to use fb's and h-backs and two TE sets. I have no problem with this style and clearly Harbaugh knows what he is doing but doesn't have the personnel quite yet to implement his plan to max performance.

Well...it's time for him to accumulate his guys. The fact that he has some road graders including Ulizio who looks like a good right tackle prospect along with Steuber who I think is a steal should make all of us optimistic.

Getting Filigia is very important in my mind.

We need to accumulate O linemen the way we are on the D line, ergo Filiaga=a vital player. There's been some improvement on the OL but I have to think that fifth year, multiple year starters that cannot get it done In the fourth quarter is an issue w the player not the coach. I don't see many of them playing on Sun

I think Harbaugh has done what was expected of him so far and not more.
As you mention, its painfully obvious that we need playmakers on offense.
I also agree with you about Peppers, but we are in the minority. I would have made him our #1 RB. That is what this team needed more than anything.
If Speight doesn't start out the season on fire in 2017 I hope that Peters is ready to go. Speight was terrible from Iowa on...You can blame the injury, but Speight was not good down the stretch when we needed him.
