It's the first time I've ever taken a work day and just blown it off to talk football ALL DAY. Usually, I just pop in and out and try to keep up during the day. Today I was all in and got zero done at work.
Today I have been told I was a bad fan, a bit$her and moaner, negative, and an attention hound. I'm sure I missed a few. I'm totally good with all of it. People get a little riled up about stuff they care about, so I take no offense. I just happen to be pretty old-fashioned and I'm really struggling with the idea that players want to leave before the season is done. Right or wrong I feel like it's not honorable.
My idea of Michigan football seems to be on the wane. The idea that the team is the best thing you'll ever play for is more and more just a video memory they play on the scoreboard before the games.
The world changes and the times change. Even though I don't like it I have zero control over it.
Between instant replay that only works about 65% the time, targeting that no one can define and now players leaving early I just feel like the game is not ascending. There needs to be a course correction somehow but I don't know what that is. I wish I did and I wish I had the power to correct it.
Oh well. I guess basketball has survived the one and done (even though I watch about 1/10th of what I used to watch) I guess college football will survive this.
God Bless and Go Blue!
