Our playcalling in the RZ has been beyond bad. We run when we should throw and vice versa. We have a bunch of 6'6", 6'7" tight ends and we don't throw it to them? Mods have talked about what a RZ weapon Gentry will be so obviously they've shown it in practice. Where the hell is it in the games? Getting Gentry one one one isn't a better option than the fades we are throwing down the sidelines or in the corner of the end zone where we have limited space to work. Where are the crossing routes down there to let our athletes operate in space?
On top of that, where were screens and misdirection to take advantage of a D that basically was blitzing and slanting the entire game? Nope, lets just run it up the gut right into the teeth of the D. I give AF credit, their D played really well, but the playcalling is not helping our kids.
Speight missed some stuff today but the issues were on the line and really on the coaches. They have to put the players in a better position to succeed. I have been 100% behind the coaches but I am starting to lose faith in Drevno very quickly. Pile on the crap O-line play and we are not getting a lot from him. I think some harsh criticism is well deserved for him.
