I want to go to a school that can provide me with the best academics first and foremost and then list off Ohio State and Nebraska as schools they care about? Really??? No offense to all the OSU fans that troll the site - look at every which ranking you want, those are not upper echelon schools.

IF you really care about education and want to play for schools with good football programs you boil it down to:

1. Stanford, Stanford, Stanford (true academic powerhouse with a great football program right now)
2. Michigan, Notre Dame, or USC (great academics and generally great football programs). I think Texas would belong here too.
3. UNC, Cal, Northwestern, UCLA (great schools, average football programs)
4. Vandy, Rice, Duke, UVA, GTech (great schools, meh football programs)

I think kids just say that because it's the thing to say but clearly you don't pick FSU, OSU, or Bama because of their academics!!!

The problem is academic success can be vague. They could be looking for a school that is good at keeping you academically eligible. Or a school that offers and excells in a specific area/degree. Or a school that will let them pursue any academic ambitions they want and not limit them due to a football schedule. When kids reference academics, it could mean a multitude of things to the individual.

Fair point. I love kids like DPJ and his attitude where I think he told his mom that he chose the lifestyle of being a football players and so it's his job to stay up until 2am and get his school work done, etc. At the end of the day for 95% of these Top 300 recruits, it's that degree that is going to matter far more then their football stats.

They meant real awesome great looking beauties as Tutors like Ellie Johnson. "74
