threatening to not play until the president of the university resigns. I don't know one single detail about this situation, but I do know that football players cannot invert the leadership of the school with these sorts of power plays. Unless the president was caught wearing a white hood, running from the scene of a burning cross, you have to step in and demand that the players not try and manipulate a university through coercion and threats of striking from playing. I'd revoke their scholarships, one and all of players deciding not to play.

Yes. Didn't see your post. I completely agree. I think it's reasonable to protest and let your voice be heard on any issue. Isn't that part of college but this demand is unreasonable and they will come to realize that very soon.

You can't have segments of a university 'striking' until they get their way. I think if Missouri administration is smart they will talk to these players and explain to them why this is a bad course of action. Give them 48 hrs.

After that point...you come to them and you say in a direct manner...you either get back to football or you will lose your scholarship but still have your 'principles'.

Yep, good post. They get half a day to completely remove their threat, or else they are kicked off the team.

A cynic would argue that the Missouri offense has been on strike all season to this point anyway.
