A couple of observations:
1. As suspected, the right side of the OL was very up and down. A number of offensive plays (in addition to the sack) were thrown off because of misplays on the right side of the line. And though Olizio was worse then Owenu, they took turns getting beat on a couple of plays. Definitely need more consistency from both of them as the year goes on. And though I love the guy, Owneu's conditioning needs to continue to improve.
2. Also as suspected, Gary is a beast. They double teamed him, ran away from him, etc. But he easily beat his guy multiple times. When in a play, he was a force. He opened up lanes for the LBs to make plays. And they were shifting him all over the field, disrupting the offense before the snap even took place. People criticizing him need to stop looking at the stat sheet and actually watch the game.
3. Crawford bashers need to stand down. Yes, he made some mistakes and could've played better. But he was disruptive in that first quarter. And it's interesting to see how many plays others make where he's the first one running over to congratulate him. Seems like a real team player.
4. Wheatley's blocking was a real disappointment. On multiple plays. On the flip side, McKeon was a pleasant surprise in the blocking game.
5. Speight could be good enough if he can just limit the turnovers.
