I hope Drevno does not bolt for Purdue...

In my mind, he's a fantastic OC and would be sorely missed. At the very least I hope he is not distracted this season like Durkin was last season. I do fully expect that he likely leaves next season and Jedd steps in as a full-time OC. I don't think Brown is going anywhere, which is great!

Looking at Drevno's bio --- he's literally been in the Western U.S. his entire life and career outside of now.

Obviously, he's here now because of JH. But is he really a B1G-type guy?

That said, there will be West Coast Head Coaching jobs opening up. Fresno State seems 90% likely to fire DeRuyter, and San Jose State is maybe 50% (Caragher is much less on the hot seat, and it does help him that they won a game late last night).

I'd probably pay more attention to those western schools vs. a Purdue.

I think Drevno aspires to head back to the NFL and I don't think he will care about location really - SJSU and Fresno State aren't exactly great jobs - I bet Drevno can likely get a job at a much better school - like Purdue - at a major conference.

Yes. Why would Purdue hire a OL coach? I think Hoke is more like to get the HC job at Purdue than Drevno.

Has Drevno ever been a coordinator? I can't for the life of me understand why ANY school would hire a guy with no coordinator experience. Isn't that a good indicator of whether a guy can put together a game plan or knows the x's and o's?

I like him, but I don't think any offensive assistant is irreplaceable. Our head coach is an offensive guru himself. The defensive side of the ball is more critical IMO.

Very good points. Harbaugh is an offensive guy and he clearly knows how to hire competent coaches and has the resources to get them on the payroll.

Since Drevno is Michigan's OC, I would say Yes, he HAS been a coordinator.

Well, let me think...thats a tough one.
Oh wait.....he's the OC for Meechigan!
So yes, I guess he does have experience.
Hard to tell if you're being sarcastic yourself.

Drevno would do alot better at Purdue then Hoke.

It's OK all. RM does not believe in facts. JH had no HC experience either and NDs QB is way better then any we have had...blah blah.

I never like to see quality coaches leave, however, I'm bracing for that being a regular occurance with Harbaugh. He has several on his staff, Fisch, Drevno, Wheatley who are HC timber. I'll be sorry to see them leave and anticipate Brown-like replacements. Harbaugh gets it.
