I'm changing my mind.
Here's why.
As I watch more and more players opt out of bowl games and jump into the transfer portal it dawned on me that I don't see this happening with a lot of the teams at the top of the food chain. (Bama, Clemson, OSU, ect.)
I think expanding the playoffs to 8 or 12 make actually help stabilize college football. It won't completely stem the transfeitis tide but players want a chance to play for championships. If they think the team they are on has a chance, they most likely hang in there. At least they won't be opting out of meaningless bowls.
Am I on to something or is this just a false hope? in your opinion, what's the right number of playoff teams?
