The concept of Don Brown press coverage and pressure the QB. But, if we go to more zone, not guarding an area and not a receiver like back in the day, I see some big advantages.
- We give help to struggling and young CBs.
- Dax Hill, who has a nose for the football, will be involved in more plays as a speedy safety.
- We might actually put a hit on a receiver. This might be the part that upsets me most. Did we ever actually tackle a msu receiver? Even on the non catch in the key last drive for msu, the kid catched the ball, or not, and our d back just runs past him. Fall on him or something. Maybe the ball clearly pops out. And this goes double for osu receivers. When have we hit them? Running 5 yard crossing routes without the fear of the likes of Ron Simpkins drilling them. It's like playing 7 on 7 No wonder kids are making circus catches against us. Hit the QB and receivers early and you set the tone for the entire game.
