Instead of Harbaugh giving 50% of his salary back, how about we give him his 10% back if he resigns.
I can’t believe I’m saying that, but after more time to reflect on yesterday, and Skene’s reminder that Harbaugh coached teams at Michigan have crapped themselves at least once in each of his 6 years, I’ve seen enough.
I will admit, that although he added some immediate buzz around the football program, the negative has outweighed the positive over the long run. All of the antics from satellite camps to overseas trips, to throwing out first pitches, to the nerd glasses, to the khaki pants etc... were unique and drew media attention, but really has become a sideshow.
I just want a coach to come in, keep his mouth shut and coach the football team. You can give me a fiery guy like Pat Fitzgerald, or a soft spoken guy like Paul Chryst, both of whom seem to get the most out of their players, but just give me something different.
