It sure set a series of bad things in motion today that temporarily changed the game around 180 degrees. If it's in the rule book, so be it.
I see other antics on the field that appear to be more disrespectful of an opponent than spinning a football. Standing over a guy you just tackled and glaring at him comes to mind. That doesn't get called.
