Truth be told I am proud of all the fine students that represent Michigan in all pursuits
But our football team has a special place in my heart
The dedication they have is remarkable - it is now really a year round sport - and the players, coaches and staff really are a great group.
As such, while I feel bad about the outcome in Columbus - basically we lost the game, a big ten title and playoff spot all at once - I feel much worse for these fine young men, and staff
The best I can come up with is that we got their best game and they didn't get ours. Would've, could've, and should've can be applied many places - you win as a team and lose as one too. We still have a game to play and all focus should be on making sure we give the Gators our best game and create some off season momentum going into 2019. Seems Florida wants to keep playing us until they win one.
Going into 2019 would expect a couple of more NFL declarations, a few transfers / non 5th years due to depth chart issues but also one or two players that people may think are leaving to stay. On transfers - no real surprises from names mentioned - wish all of them well.
One more coach will likely leave for greener pastures - although - many more will be approached - think they all stay. Consistency this off season will be a good thing. Adding a more dynamic element to the offense will be key. Perhaps that starts with the bowl game - one can hope.
Too bad Jim wont get another shot at Urban - but he had his shots and the record is what the record is. Improvement needed indeed.
On the Jim leaving front - can only say this. Don't think it will happen - although his name will always come up. There are many reasons for this on his end - family, relationships, loyalty, etc...
But in the end - coach wont find a better spot then the one he has - he knows that!
One more game for this season.
Lets win it, and keep Ascending
