Good friend of mine and I are both flying back in town for the PSU game, as he was able to score free tickets for us on the 40 yard line through some work connections. Haven’t been to the Big House since UTL II vs. ND and am really looking forward to this one. If you guys are looking for omens regarding the significance of my attendance, here’s the tale of the tape:
Overall UM record in the Big House at games I’ve attended: 34-9
Current streak: W2 (2011 OSU, 2013 ND)
Record in “big games” (ND, OSU, MSU, PSU): 12-4
Record vs. PSU: 1-2
Best moments present for: OSU 95, 97, 99 and 11; Desmond’s catch vs ND; Iowa 97
Worst moments present for: Colorado Hail Mary; PSU 94; OSU 01 and 05; Syracuse 98
I’ve got an impeccable record vs MSU (2-0), ND (3-0) and OSU (4-2) but definitely have some work to do to improve the PSU situation. So forget the x’s and o’s or Jimmies and Joes when previewing next week’s game. The real matchup is between my all around good juju at the Big House and my personal cold streak vs. PSU. As usual, establishing the run, limiting turnovers and scoring more points than the opposition will be the key.
