but this team is gonna be downright great. We have the fastest D Don Brown has ever coached, with the depth and now improved conditioning to avoid wearing down in the 4th quarter. The D is going to be lights out; swarming and suffocating.

With this D, we only need a moderately decent O to compete for the Big Ten Championship, but the talent on this O is so much more than decent. Yes, the OL needs to make marked improvement over last year, but we only need them to be decent to have a very explosive offense. Shea is a very accurate passer with excellent escapability and a playmaking attitude. We haven’t seen that kind of playmaking talent in Ann Arbor since Henson, as much as we all love Shoelace and Henne.

Now we surround that with Higdon/Evans, Gentry/McKeon, and just an embarrassment of talent on the outside, and all you need out of the OL is to be decent. Our interior OL will be very good, and by all reports, Runyon has become a good OT. So, we need RT to play well enough. 1 position out of 22 with significant concern. I know a bunch of you will rant on the Safety play, but those guys will be plenty good enough IMO.

I think back to all the plays left on the field by the QB play over the last 2 years, and I’m just amazed at how close we were. How many times did we have Chesson/Darboh open behind the D against Iowa in 16, only to have Speight throw the ball OOB? And don’t even get me started on the OSU game last year... EVERYONE was open. Now we didn’t just upgrade to a Peters or McCaffrey, we went out and got an ELITE qb talent.

2017 was the Murphy’s law year. QB1 got hurt, WR 1 got hurt, 17 players to the NFL, LT’s knee shredded without depth to replace, etc etc etc. That’s in the past and it’s about to be glorious.

Go Blue. To Hell with Notre Dame.
