Answers please:
  1. What do we start out the season ranked as?
  2. What is our final record next season?
  3. Do we make it to the BIG championship game?
  4. Do we win the BIG championship game?
  5. Do we make it to the Playoffs?
  6. Do we win a NC or get to at least play for one?
My answers are:

  1. Top 10, but Top 15 for sure
  2. 11-2 with loses to 2 of these 4 team - @MSU, @OSU, Wisconsin (great defense), @Iowa
  3. No I think OSU likely ends up there
  4. Same as #3
  5. Nope, can't make Playoffs without #3 and #4
  6. Nope
I hope I am wrong about my predictions. On paper we are going to be loaded but the biggest question mark is really "How good is O'Korn in a game?". If he even plays 75% like Rudock did the last 6 games, we are set. I think Wisconsin will be a tough game with that defense of theirs and we will arguable play the 3 best BIG teams on the road - Iowa, Michigan State, and Ohio State - so the schedule in the BIG will be brutal for us. We also have to stay healthy next year because despite depth we never really recovered from the Glasgow injury.

I think your predictions are spot on, I think we lose at least one of those four. However, so many of our big games are later in the year, it will be interesting to see if UM doesn't get a ton of momentum and have an absolute breakout year.

Michigan made big improvements as the year went on, at least on an individual basis.

I am hopeful that our new DC knows how to stop the read option better than Durkin. That's probably a given.

I assume JH puts the read option in for the Maryland game, since it works EVERY TIME.

I agree. Very good assessment 'on paper'. I think the B1G title goes through UM & O$U next year (like it's supposed to be) & the winner of The Game wins the B1G & goes to the Playoffs. I'm obviously hopeful it's UM & I think they have a great shot at it. If they get solid QB play, improved LB play & continue to improve throughout the season like they did this year, Look Out!

Also, O$U loses a ton of talent (4 of 5 OL, Zeke, B. Miller, Cardale & the core of DL production gone) along with some internal issues which require some coaching changes. We'll see.

Go Blue!

Michigan will be ranked in the top 10 preseason because of the amount of talent returning on both sides of the ball and because O'Korn was well known to have been fabulous this year leading the scout teams and learning Harbaugh's offense. He is the key and he passed for over 3,000 yards at Houston his Freshmen year. He also has two years of eligibility left giving Peters a chance to be groomed. Look for Malzone to possibly transfer this year. Morris will battle Speight for the role of backup. Beating out Speight will be tough because he won the Minnesota game this year. The offense with the addition of Walker will be electrifying next year. The key will be the defense and how long it takes them to learn Brown's system. Michigan should win 11-12 games next year barring any injuries. O'Korn also can run the football quite well which is another headache to deal with.

I need to see O'Korn. If he can play then UM can make some noise. Still concerned about the running game since UM is a plodding run team.

What gives me optimism is Butt AND Chesson are now big time. Chesson has really developed so UM has play makers on the edges but they need a quality qb (see Rudock and his last 1/2 of season performance) and a rb. They lose Houma :(

UM is also going to have to show me something at the lb'er position. Any good qb play and I think UM wins at least 9 games and probably 10. Get UM a speed back (Higdon? Walker?) plus throw in Davis and UM can make some national noise although I still think they are a year away but Butt/Chesson could be the difference.
