After beating PSU today, the women's tennis team has advanced to the Big Ten Championship Final for the 11th straight year. In the previous 10 years of making the final, they are 0-10. That is not a misprint. Ten straight losses, with 9 of them coming to NW.
But this year, it won't be NW in the final, it will be an up and coming OSU squad. So not only does Michigan have a huge chance to get this monkey off their back, (and maybe get them a little more confident about the national tourney as well), but they have a chance to do it by beating an arch rival and sending a clear message that they are the dominant team in the Big Ten.
On paper they should win, but when you've lost 10 in a row it's gotta weigh on the mind, (especially after having it all but won last year, before an epic collapse). Here's hoping they can learn from that and show the mental toughness needed to pull out the win tomorrow. Also, important for tourney seeding...a win means probably not having to face a #1 seed until the 4th round.
