Since it's bye week, I thought about asking this question.

What year and any special memory you'd like to share? It can be about a class, dorm, football games, parties, etc.

Sincerely,

Patrick (joking)

First Ann Arbor Memory? August 2006. The day I moved to Ann Arbor. The first thing I did with my parents was drive over to a Meijer to buy all the crap we thought I was going to need. We bought the usual stuff: sheets, a pillow, a fan, a lamp, pop tarts and we then headed over to Baits II--where I would be living. It took us less than 20 minutes to set everything up and at least ten out of those 20 consisted of my mother Lysoling the crap out of the place. Right after setting everything up, my roommate, "James," shows up with his parents. We introduce ourselves, he and his parents drop off all of his stuff and after some awkward chit-chat, the parents decide its time for them to get out of our hair and let us to get to know each other. So we say our goodbyes and off they go. First thing James asks me is: "You drink?" a "Heck yeah" followed and he tells me one of his buddies-- "Randy"--over in Central Campus had a handle of vodka.

So we hop on a bus on North Campus and head over to the Michigan Union to meet Randy. After a few games of pool over at the Union, we buy some fricking Gatorades and head over to Randy's in East Quad to drink. Fast forward a few hours later and we are pissing in the East Quad showers, running around the halls screaming, and just being complete jackasses. After a good half-an-hour of some running around, Randy starts to feel sick and we head over to his room. We must've been in his room only for a few minutes and all of the sudden we hear a knock on the door. "DPS open up!" I didn't know what the crap DPS was at the time but I knew this wasn't any good. So James is trying to convince us to jump out one of the second-floor window, I'm telling Randy we shouldn't open the door, but Randy is drunk and freaking out because he lives there and they know he does. So there's some arguing going around and after some back and forth, Randy opens the door and he starts talking to his RA and the DPS officer while we just hide in the closet. So we are hiding there and we can hear the RA telling Randy that they know there are more people in the room and that he should have us all come out and talk. So Randy calls us out, after a few times we hesitantly pop out of the closet and go to the door to talk to these guys. They could clearly tell we were drunk---it was also pretty obvious we were underage---so the RA just started talking to us about the world of crap we were all going to be in. James starts to get angry with the RA (James is a big, angry dude by the way), he starts to insult the RA--who is only a few years older than us--and to our surprise he shoves the RA onto the floor and books it. The DPS officer, a poor overweight guy, is in shock trying to help the RA. Im freaking out in the hall not knowing what's really happening and Randy closes his door and leaves me there with these two dudes. All of this while I can still hear James screaming "Run guys, run!" So I start running too. The DPS guy starts chasing after me once I book it, but I want to say he couldn't handle those East Quad stairs. For an unknown reason though, we just kept running. We ran all the way up Geddes, into the cemetery, jumped over to Arb, crossed the whole damn Arb, and finally we hitched a ride from a Bells Pizza delivery boy on Fuller Ct. All in all, a crazy intro to college. Randy got an MIP and we never got in trouble for it. Bless Randy.

That said, I got an MIP like six days later.
