Northwestern starts a small group with Nance at the 5. On first glance it's easy to think this will be a one sided game with Dickinson dominating Nance, who is not strong enough to keep him from the basket. However, in watching Nance vs Garza it's clear that Nance can himself present a number of problems with his jumpshot, especially for more conventional with his jumpshot. Nance has been money from 15-20 ft and makes 1 3pt shot a game and we saw a few minutes of Dickinson struggling to defend a shooter on the perimeter in the first half vs Maryland. So how do the bball minds here see this one going?
Nance can't handle Dickinson and ends up in foul trouble or thrown off his game? Nance gets open jumper after open jumper forcing Howard to either play Johns more or go to a zone? NW has to play its true center more than usual? Dickinson surprises by defending Nance on the perimeter better than expected? Some mixture of the above?
I'm sure the NBA scouts will be watching intently to see how Dickinson does vs a mobile perimeter oriented matchup.
