I don't think these awful seasons by ND and MSU get fixed so easily...losing recruits like Donovan Jeter is going to be a trend and cannot imagine Ambry Thomas and Donovan PJ are going to smile on a desperate MSU program
When you lose 7 games in a row it's probably more than a single issue. When I watch MSU I see at least a few issues that are going to need a year or so to fix.
1. Need a qb.
2. OL needs work
3. Rb's are fine but Scott has a TO problem.
4. Lb's are weak
5. Secondary needs an infusion of talent. Apply to #4
6. Depth is thin
MSU will be back. No question in my mind but when I say that I mean 1 year or so and develop their young talent. They remind me a little of UM a few years back where they have too many inexperienced guys on the field.
MSU went to their peak because they had quality depth on both sides and talent they scouted and developed but that has clearly left the program. Not a coaching issue in my opinion. I don't see coaching issues when I watch their team...I see flaws based on talent and inexperience.
ND lost their entire secondary for various reasons. That is a big reason.
I think Kelly will survive and probably right the ship at least somewhat.
Dantonio isn't going anywhere after one bad year. I don't think next year will be much better, but it can't be this bad. Probably looking at 6-6 type season if they can get lucky in a few games.
Come on ARMY ! Picked NAVY , may pick Army this week. ND has them and then VA. Tech and USC. we are talking 3-9 at best. Wake up the echoes , AND THE Alumni I! "74
You ask why are so bad? Try coaching. For example, how many field goal attempts did Dantonio pass up in the UM red zone. Enough to win the game at the end.
Kelly. 4-and-1 inside the 15 with time running and he kicks a field goal while trailing 28-27. Now that's great coaching.

I do agree with Arrowhead though - you take points as you get them. Basically he told Harbaugh after the 2nd 4th down try that he has zero confidence that he can win the game unless they pull out all the stops and that deflates a team. You take all the points you can get against a team like Michigan especially when the score is 17-7!!!
