How can this be a catch?...

Well I should have said how can the defender not claim he caught the ball...it was his body that made the catch and the wr and his hands. I guess somebody needs to get credit for the 'catch'.

The way I look at it...both individuals made the catch. I believe if equal possession..then it goes to the wr.

Fascinating. The bottom line is the ball is closer to the defender than to the wr. The wr made the interception for the defender.

I think it's a WR catch simply based on it is his hands that trap the ball, thus controlling it against the DB. Very unusual but not the first time that's happened I believe.
