Hoke to East Carolina sounds about right

This cannot be right, did McNeal go 13-1 his first season and then get fired after the next?:

"East Carolina recently fired former coach Ruffin McNeal after the program finished 5-7 last season. McNeal went 18-8 over the two previous years."

If you Google Brady Hoke the first two images are:

Not worded real clearly, but you're reading it wrong. He went 5-7 in 2015 and 18-8 the two previous years (meaning 2013 and 2014).

He was 42-34 in 6 years at East Carolina and he was 13-12 the previous 2 years at ECU. His teams lost some very very close games that could have easily given him about 3-4 more wins.

Brady shouldn't have been our head coach, but he was a very good assistant and was part of the '97 team. I see no point in piling on him. I hope things work out for him at ECU, if he gets that job.

If I were a non power 5 school...I would consider Hoke but I would be very curious on his staff because Hoke needs help and that is why he did o.k. at SDSU.

I think Hoke is a mediocre/poor non-power 5 coach. The guy could sell ice to eskimos but why any legit football program would want the guy...I just don't know.

If I was a low level program then by all means. Low risk.

sorry for joining the debate so late. The key to Hoke's SDSU success was Rocky Long who got the Aztecs to a bowl this year. Maybe the best DC in the nation. Rocky wanted to stay in San Diego which was good for him and the school.

Can we give the Brady Hoke thing a rest now. He is history. His negative impact on UM is no where near the long term damage RR did.
They both did their own, unique damage to UM. Rod's non-existent defense kept the cupboard bare for a couple years after he left and Hoke's inability to develop an offense short-changed us this year and likely next year, especially on the offensive line and depth at QB. I wish him well, by all accounts a very decent man.
