While we wait for football season, name someone from UM's past who you feel deserves to be in the College Football Hall of Fame, but is not there yet. The last UM representative elected was RB Rob Lytle. To help you think, here is a quick summary of the rules used by the Hall in making selections:
1. The player had to be picked as an All American by one or more of the services recognized by the National Football Foundation.
2. The player has to have played his last intercollegiate game at least 10 years ago. If he is still playing pro ball, they wait until he retires.
3. The player had to have played in the last 50 years.
4. The Hall considers post football performance as a "citizen" to include whether he got a degree, academic awards, etc.
5. For coaches, they wait at least 3 years after he retires, or if he has reached 70 years of age.
I have some thoughts. How about you guys?
