Looks like I'm being called out. I wonder why? I know the answer to that. Sort of the same reason people get on me on my own home board (BWI). I dared to challenge the "groupthink" that some folk like to engage in on Rivals message boards.
Anyway, whatever. I'll man up and answer the question posed to me.
"My" game today, I suppose, was Cincinnati @ Purdue. That's where I was today. I take my nephew to a Cincinnati Bearcats road game every year (along with a couple home games at Nippert), and West Lafayette was the trip this year. I am doing my duty, making sure my Ohio-raised nephew roots for someone "acceptable" and does not jump to the dark side and become an Ohio State fan.
Anyway, we had a good time, I just got back. Cincinnati is not a bunch of world-beaters themselves this year, yet the Bearcats still won pretty easily. Another rough year is ahead for Purdue. On the plus side, the Boilers finally got rid of their ratty-ass bleachers in the South End Zone, and replaced them with a Beer Garden! So that's an improvement.
As for Penn State (yes, I know that's what this thread was about) --- I haven't seen any of the game outside of the final PSU drive. I'll watch the tape tomorrow AM. There was a thread on the Pittsburgh board where people posted predictions and I gave mine: I thought Pittsburgh would win by 3 and I was exactly correct! Of course, I predicted 20-17. Not quite, ha ha. Not sure the last time PSU played a game where 81 points were scored in regulation. I guess things are different, it's not the usual PSU football of "bad offense, good defense", but perhaps the exact opposite. Franklin, for his own sake, does need to beat some credible opponents -- today was a chance, road wins are never easy and this would have been one against a fairly decent foe. As is often the case (e.g., most recently at Northwestern and in the Bowl Game vs. Georgia in 2015), he didn't get it done.
