What's the issue with demlion? I don't necessarily agree with him on many things, but I don't think he's crazy either (like the others).

I was at that PSU game live. On the plus side (the only plus side), I nailed it in the upset pool --- I am one for one!!! The rest of you suckers may not have a chance to bet against us --- we'll never be favored again!!!

Fair enough. I interact with him quite often over there and I think you're way off base regarding him and Paterno --- but fair enough.

I was working out and watching your game. Has Hackenberg lost his mojo/confidence? I thought he was going to be a stud coming out of high school.

Can't just be the OL? Too convenient of an excuse. Bad coaching? I don't know.

I think Hackenberg has the skills --- witness the 2013 PSU season finale against Wisconsin (also O'Brien's last game as PSU coach), which capped off a very fine freshman year and one was completely justified in thinking the sky was the limit.

Problem is, he is also high-maintenance. Needs lots of touch points with his coaches, and he doesn't handle change (be it a new head coach, or a team that unexpectedly blitzes) well.

E.g., Hackenberg is Jay Cutler.

Now, that's not ideal but it can work with the right coach and offense --- and I think O'Brien was both. Problem is the new coach is the ANTI-Bill O'Brien.

I do think that Temple team will breakout this year --- shoot, I thought that even before yesterday --- 10 wins and an American Conference championship. Still, yesterday was a total disaster, and Franklin has, over the course of a mere 14 games, managed to use up ALL of his goodwill with me already. And the rest of the PSU fanbase isn't too far behind.

Hackenberg is good, really good. He's been running for his life for the last two years though. If he was smart he'd take his chances and go pro after this season before he suffers a career-ending injury.
